Biomina club [2] - Mining healthcare data

Biomina (www.biomina.be) is pleased to announce the second "biomina club", a series of informal scientific meetings in which UA and UZA researchers, post-docs and Phd students present and discuss their ongoing research and challenges in bioinformatics, medical informatics and applied data mining.

The second meeting of this series is hosted by the biomina group @ UZA, and takes place at the Antwerp University Hospital.

Program: This meeting gives the floor to 4 UA/UZA researchers who present their ongoing or recently finished work in short 15-minute presentations, each followed by 15 minutes of discussion. 

  • 14:30. Tim Van den Bulcke (UZA/UA): Introduction to Biomina.
  • 15:00. Kim Luyckx (UZA/UA): PASTEL, the UZA Platform for Clinical Trial Patient Recruitment.
  • 15:30. Geert Vandeweyer (Medische Genetica UA / UZA): Unlocking the Exome: Next Generation Sequencing Data Handling using Galaxy and VariantDB.
  • 16:00. Koen Smets (ADReM UA): Development of an Automated Software Platform to Support and Improve the Quality of Clinical Coding.

All interested colleagues from related disciplines (from life sciences to computer sciences) are welcome! Feel free to forward this invitation to anyone who may be interested.
