Biomina Research Day 2015

The rapid accumulation of data is making many life science disciplines increasingly data-driven and thus reliant on computational approaches for extracting relevant insights. A few years ago, the University of Antwerp (UA) and the Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) joined forces with the establishment of biomina, the biomedical informatics research center Antwerpen. This interdisciplinary research network unites researchers over faculties and bridges institutional borders to jointly tackle the enormous life science data mining challenges ahead. In these few years, many exciting research developments have taken place. Today we are happy to invite you to the third biomina research day, which will be held on december 9, 2015, in Hof Van Liere (located in Antwerp city center).

Goals:

The biomina research day has following goals:

  • To present, to a broad audience, a snapshot of ongoing bio- and medical informatics research in Antwerp and beyond.
  • To show how these fields offer novel research opportunities for a wide range of life science domains.
  • To promote interactions among clinicians and researchers in data mining, bioinformatics, medical informatics and life sciences.
  • To stimulate and foster novel research and valorisation initiatives for this rapidly growing field.

Time and place:

  • When? Wednesday, December 9, 9:30 - 17:00 CET.
  • Where? Hof Van Liere, (located in  Prinsstraat 13, Antwerpen [click for map] ) in the F. de Tassiszaal and A. Dürerzaal, 2nd floor
  • Attendance is free, but registration through the registration form is strongly preferred.

We kindly invite you to mark the date in your agenda!
